Tempe, Arizona cleaning services now have a new area to clean – children’s playgrounds. According to experts, many playgrounds throughout Arizona and especially in Tempe, were found to be infected with pathogens – bacteria that can sicken small children, who are apt to put their fingers everywhere and put things in their mouths. The playgrounds, many of which were found at popular fast-food restaurants, contained pathogens such as Bacillus cereus, fecal coliforms, Enterobacter, multiple strains of Staphylococcus, Acinetobacter lwoffii, and more. While the restaurants claim they routinely clean the playgrounds, activists say there’s not enough enforcement in the law. While they’re not demanding the stores hire maid services, concerned Tempe parents are asking the restaurants to take the matter more seriously.
