One of the oldest cities in the US, Providence was hit hard in August, 2011’s hurricane Irene. With tens of thousands without power for a number of days, many roads closed and the city in a general state of disarray, residents must have felt like they were living back in colonial times. As Providence and other Rhode Island cleaning services went to work, local residents helped out in the effort to bring the city back to life.
