Maid services in a Seattle, Washington hotel had a summer full of cleaning up glass from a very unique and alarming source – luxury balconies from the 11th and 21st floors of the exclusive Four Seasons hotel. Glass from tempered panels curiously began crumbling and raining down from the sky in the summer of 2011; and it happened three times. While no one was hurt in the incidents, damage was inflicted to the hotel’s structure below and one car suffered minor scratches and dents. The cause of the instantaneous shattering seems to be either faulty installation or damage incurred during shipping or manufacturing. The hotel closed the balconies and is replacing all 300 panels in order to protect the area and passersby below, as well as spare Seattle cleaning services from having to sweep up the glass every other week.
